My name is Eduardo Perez. I am the owner of www.pickapicker.co.nz

I arrived in NZ in 2002 and had the opportunity to work for Graham & Marian Hirst (Hirst Partnership) first as one of their orchard staff (2002, 2003, 2007) and then as a labour services provider through my website.

Working with Graham & Marian has always been a gratifying experience. I became very good friends as well with Kelly Whaanga, who is the orchard manager.

Through my orchard working experience I was able to meet lots of good friends, and I would say this opportunity gave me the chance to make friends for life.

I highly recommend working with The Hirsts as they are excellent employers, they always look after their workers and make sure that they have a pleasant experience while earning some extra cash for their traveling experience.

By the way !!...Marian makes the best cakes and muffins which are only give to those who are keen to work on Saturdays!!..so I WAS ALWAYS THERE!!... :)

Mi nombre es José Bustos de Chile.
Les quiero contar un poco la experiencia de haber trabajado en la cosecha de las manzanas y de la gran experiencia que fue el haber compartido y trabajado con gente de diversos lugares del mundo, intercambiando las diferentes experiencias de vida con otras personas de lugares muy lejanos y también con gente de New Zealand 

En mi experiencia me siento afortunado de haber trabajado para esa empresa como también me siento muy agradecido del trato que recibí por parte de todas las personas del trabajo.
De alguna manera u otro la experiencia de trabajar en el picking de la manzana fue una suma de buenos ingredientes los cuales le entregaban un sabor especial a cada día de trabajo, siendo cada día diferente al otro.
En mí día a día me juntaba con  diferentes personas de diferentes lugares del mundo y siempre había tiempo para intercambiar una interesante conversación.
Como también para aquellos que buscan aprender y mejorar el ingles.
En mis experiencias estos fueron los mejores lugares donde en definitiva puse en práctica mis ingles.

Tampoco hay que olvidar que este tipo de trabajos me  financiaron parte de mi viaje por New Zealand.

Bueno quiero recomendar la experiencia a los viajeros que estén dispuestos a trabajar, disfrutar y ver una sonrisa en cada persona que trabaja en ese lugar. En definitiva creo que el hecho de poder ver positivas energías y amabilidad de los New Zealander es lo que le da el toque mágico al trabajo y la experiencia.

Hello everybody.

My name is Jose Bustos, I’m from Chile. I want to talk a little bit about my experience working in apples picking and also the amazing experience was been worked and share with people from different part of the worlds. Also sharing the different ways to see the life in the different part of the world and also share the different points of view with NeoZelander people.

In my personal experience I feel gift to been working for that company and also I feel very grateful for the treatment received by my superiors and my supervisor.
Somehow the experience to been working in apples picking was a summation of very nice ingredients which giving it a special flavor to feel happy at the job everyday.
In my case everyday I was trying to meet people from different part of the world and all the time I made the opportunities to share an interesting conversation.
 In my experience these were the best opportunities to improve my English, so these is a very good way if are you looking to learn so English and also make some money to keep going traveling for New Zealand.

So, I really want to suggest this experience at all backpackers who are looking for job also enjoy the experience and of course see a smile from the other people.
I think the fact to can see the positive energies and kindness from the New Zealander is what finally gives the magic touch at the job and the experience.
